Honda NX200 launch is claimed to be just next month. We tell you the whole story and the CEO has already confirmed it for our market…
Atsushi Ogata, Honda’s new CEO and MD, in October 2020, directly hinted that the company will utilize the new 180 platform of the Hornet 180 in different categories.
He specified that Adventure is one of the options and it will be available ‘sooner or later‘! You can read his statement here.
Later, in March 2021, Honda trademarked ‘NX200’ moniker in India. Motorcycles with the ‘NX’ branding have traditionally been crossovers/dual purpose models from Honda (more details). If we link these two parallels, there is a big possibility that Honda will name its entry ADV as NX200.
In a latest, an online portal claims that the company is preparing to launch the motorcycle and it could be here by as early as August ie next month!
Now, Honda has the option of bringing the CBF190X (pictured above) ‘as is‘ from China ie in the same design but I get a feeling that it will be redesigned and may gain more kit for India.
Considering that it will be similar to the CB190X, expect Honda’s upcoming entry ADV to be more road-specific and not exactly an off-road friendly motorcycle, like the Xpulse 200.
New CBF190TR Special Edition Looks Cool; Can We Have it in India Honda…?
The Hornet 180 costs around Rs 1.31 Lakh which means there could be a premium of around Rs 10,000 to 15,000 on its ADV model (or more depending on how loaded it will be). Power will directly come from the same 184.40 cc, single cylinder motor that pumps out 12.7 KW (17.27 PS) of power and 16.1 Nm of torque (on the Hornet 180).

So, there we have it, the murmurs of Hornet ADV (or NX200) getting louder and we may be very close to it!
