2-wheeler sales post-lockdown are picking pace and these are very good signs of revival. After Hero, Honda has shared a few numbers which will make us feel better during these times of uncertainty..
We are literally entering a completely new regime – a regime of uncertainty, a regime of less money in pockets. India locked itself down to prevent the spread of the extremely dangerous COVID-19 pandemic for about 1.5 months. The whole country came to a standstill with no one allowed to move out of his home.
After about 1.5 months, we are opening our economy again, albeit, slowly. Auto manufacturers and their dealers have started opening up their shutters from 4th May 2020. And green shoots are already appearing!
After Hero shared its numbers, rival Honda has revealed that it has serviced over 2.5 lakh 2-wheelers at its dealerships post the lockdown period. It has also retailed over 21,000 units within these few days.
These are very positive signs and encouraging signals that our economy will be back on track in the months to come. Even amidst uncertainty, people are stepping out of their homes to continue with their purchases.
At this point, almost 45 percent of Honda’s dealers are operational along with 30 percent of its total touch points. Honda had handed out a Dealership Operations Resumption Manual to each dealership and it says that its complete dealer family is strictly adhering to these norms.
