Himalayan sales are, in fact, on an incline for the last few months despite various quality issues that are being reported still…
Himalayan has been in the news ever since it was launched and almost everything about it is related to the vast quality concerns it has been plagued with. The issues have spanned right from chassis breakage, to rust in fuel tank, to engine malfunction, etc. Recently, few videos and pics of a Himalayan broken into two pieces are doing viral rounds on the social media but their authenticity is unverified.

But all this aside, at 1619 units, Himalayan has managed to register its year’s best numbers in the month of July, in fact, this is its highest numbers for the last 14 months of data that we have in hand. It is surprising that ever since March this year, Himalayan’s numbers have been on a rise. It achieved its year’s worst numbers of 497 units in the month of December 2018.
In the month of June, Dominar outsold Himayalan, however, the ADV has regained its sales supremacy in the subsequent month (Dominar 400 registered 1363 unit sales in July). It also outsold other motorcycles around this price band which include Duke 250 (493 units), CBR250R (48 units), Gixxer 250 (284 units) etc.

On a similar note, the other Adventure motorcycle Hero Xpulse 200, which was recently launched, has also started on a positive note. It managed 2530 unit sales in the month of July (combined numbers for both the Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T). Just today we got to know about the possibility of the KTM 250 ADV and then the 390 Adventure is expected anytime soon – all the hints for others to join this fast growing segment.
