Hero Adventure 200 will provide an option to the current Impulse users…
It appears that Hero has decided that it will shed their ‘only-commuter-maker‘ tag. Obviously, they can not just stop producing their bread and butter Splendors and Passions but after settling down in the market with a broken technological pact with Honda, they are now moving ahead.
In a latest report at ET Auto, Hero is believed to be working on a new 200 cc off-road adventure motorcycle. This is apart from the 200cc Xtreme 200S which is slated to be launched in the next few months (pictured below). After Honda NXR Bros’ based Impulse, this would be Hero’s second adventure motorcycle and one which will be completely designed and developed indigenously by the Munjal-led team.
We expect it to be based on the same platform of the Xtreme 200S and against the report which claims that it will be an off-roader, we believe it will be more of an adventure motorcycle. An earlier report has speculated that Hero’s upcoming adventure motorcycle will come with a navigation system which can be paired with a smartphone. More details here.

Also, considering how conservative Hero has been we believe this will be a no-frills bare-bones motorcycle which is actually good. Let us hope it is not just an ‘Xtreme 200X’ with slightly differentiated body work and new decals and an actually dedicated motorcycle…
