As Expected: Pocket Rocket Duke 390 Now Costlier!

We have been hearing slow whispers about a price hike on the mighty Duke 390 and here comes a report on Autocar India. The pocket rocket Duke 390 is going to be dearer now by INR 6500.

390 Duke which was launched at a shocking price of INR 1,80,000 (ex-showroom, Pune) will now be available for INR 1,86,500 (ex-showroom, Pune).

With its 4-stroke, water-cooled 373.2 cc engine and belligerent looks, the bike has won many a followers. For those who truly are in love with what this bike has on offer will not be swayed away by the minuscule rise in price, but it would give them a thought to hurry up with their purchase before KTM announces another price hike (which we expect will be higher and may come sooner than you and us can anticipate!).

If you count out its smaller sibling the 200, there isn’t really anything in India that could challenge the 390 Duke for its looks and performance. The 43 hp bike weighs in just 139 kg and one could, without getting on to the saddle, make a good guess about what that kind of power-to-weight ratio means.

The 390 Duke has minimal clothing and what there is comes in the trademark orange-white colour combination. It is understood that an orange-black colour scheme (featured pic) is also going to be offered this coming year (more details).

KTM is also planning to introduce the fully-faired RC 200 and RC390 in India later in 2014. If you are hearing about these two monsters for the first time, head over to this page for details and pictures.
