Completely Changed 2021 Benelli 302R Unveiled; Is 22kg Lighter

2021 Benelli 302R India launch now looks close as the new model conforms to Euro 5 (BS6) emission norms. The new model comes with big changes…

The new Benelli 302R was leaked a few days back and the model is now an official reality. The 2021 302R is a completely changed motorcycle ditching most of the older creases, lines and the overall styling.

Gone are the dual split horizontal headlamps and in comes vertically stacked headlamps, LED side blinkers and LED tail lamps. The motorcycle now looks less bulky and, less bulky it is as it tips the scale at 182 kilos – almost 22 kg lesser than before. This should make it a more manageable handler and improve overall performance.

It should also nullify the minor power loss it has gone through in this update. The same 302cc, parallel twin, which has been updated to meet Euro 5 norms, now churns 34.5 bhp of peak power at 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm of max torque at 9000 rpm.

To freshen up things in the instrumentation department, there is a new full color TFT cluster which shows a lot of additional information. The 41mm upside down front forks are now adjustable for preload. Twin front petal discs of the older model have given way to (twin) round disc brakes whereas the rear continues with the single rotor. ABS is offer and most probably standard. The overall body styling changes with new, fresher graphics lend the bike a more proportionate look.

Now since the 2021 302R is ready with stringent emission norms (Euro 5 is roughly similar to our BS6 norms), expect Benelli to launch it in India anytime this year. It already features in this list of seven confirmed motorcycles for our market (some of which are already launched).
