Price Increase Alert – Maestro Edge 125 & Destini BS6

Destini & Maestro Edge 125 latest price sees a hike of effectively upto 20 percent on the BS6 versions. The BS6 versions were launched in Feb 2020.

Hero is trying all it can but despite all its might, it has not been tasting success in the scooter segment. When it parted ways with Honda, it transformed the Maestro (which carried Honda’s 110cc engine) to Maestro Edge (which used Hero’s indigenous 110cc engine). Duet was also introduced on the same platform but both the scoots failed to attract buyers, after the initial hysteria.

Things have gone so bad for Hero that it registered a degrowth of a massive 43 percent and ended the year FY20 at the fourth spot, even behind the much smaller Suzuki (here are the charts). Seeing the drop, Hero, it appears, has stopped focusing on its 110cc scooters and is chugging along only with its Pleasure. It has not introduced the BS6 versions of its Maestro Edge or the Duet in the market yet.

On the other hand, it probably believes that the 125cc segment may have some space for it to penetrate. It introduced BS6 compliant versions of its Maestro Edge 125 and Destini in the market in February 2020.

In a latest update, both the scooters have received a price hike which comes barely after three months. Here are the latest prices…
