23rd October update: After the ‘Block Your Date’ alert, Bajaj has shared the official invitation with us and along with that openly confirmed that it will be the “Launch of the new range of Avengers“. Apart from this, the company has informed that they will also reveal their plans for this segment which means we may have a few words on the long awaited CS200/CS400 – cruiser sport motorcycles and details of the smaller 150cc Avenger, if it will be launched a little later. They have also launched the official website which counts to their unveiling and you can access it from here.
20th October: Moments back a ‘Block Your Date – Bajaj Auto Event‘ mailer has hit our mailboxes and the date mentioned is Tuesday, October 27th. The event will take place in Mumbai and nothing else has been specified or hinted.
Based on the word we just had with our sources, this is, most probably the official launch of the new Avenger series of motorcycles.
A Quick Recap
By now we know that there are at least two new variants of the Avenger with the 220cc engine – Avenger Street and Avenger Cruise. Apart from that there is a speculation of a smaller 150cc Avenger as well. The Street version resembles the Harley Street 750 and will be promoted as more of a city-gadabout. It has a blackened theme all around and continues with the same 220 cc motor.
The Cruise version is expected to be promoted as more of a cruiser and carries very limited cosmetic changes when compared to the current Avenger. Both of these new Avengers are expected to be launched on 27th whereas Bajaj may also plan to introduce the smaller Avenger 150 on the same day or a little later. It must be noted that so far no test mule or a concrete confirmation on the smaller Bajaj Avenger 150 has made way till now.
