Benelli has officially launched the Imperiale 400 cruiser in China. The motorcycle is offered in four colours – maroon, silver, black and beige. Imperiale 400 is equipped with spoke wheels and retro classic looks.
It is powered by a 374cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine which can belt out 20.07 PS of peak power and 29 Nm of max torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle which weighs hefty 205 kilograms, comes with ABS as a standard fitment.
According to Indianautosblog, Imperiale’s price in China is 23,800 RMB which is roughly 2.37 Lakh when converted to INR.
Imperiale 400 is also India bound and has been confirmed by Benelli’s Indian management. In fact, the company has already announced that they intend to fight against the very formidable Royal Enfield and that it will be priced under 2 Lakh in our domestic market (details).
Imperiale 400 is expected to be brought to India via the CKD route, however, with increased localisation content Benelli intends to keep prices as competitive as possible.

Apart from this, Benelli has also revealed that it will introduce quarter liter motorcycles in India in the coming few months (more details). It has been very aggressive this year and has amassed 1000 unit sales already and intends to double these numbers by the end of this year.
