Bajaj Registers Best-Ever Exports; Offsets Domestic Decline: Nov

Bajaj sales for the November month are fourteen percent down but it has managed to dispatch much higher motorcycles in its export markets…

Indian automobile market is in a big mess! It has fallen to new lows and there simply is no growth in demand since the last many months. What this has done is – it has exposed makers who were completely reliant on the domestic market for sales; and the ones which have distributed their sales in various markets are better off.

Similar is the case with Bajaj. Like almost everyone else, it has continued to report negative domestic numbers in the month of November 2019, but it has cushioned that with better export numbers.

Bajaj registered total sales of 1.76 lakh units in the domestic market which were 14 percent lesser than the 2.05 Lakh units it managed in the same month last year. However, it dispatched almost 26,000 more units in the export markets this year as compared to last year, inferring a hike of 18 percent. The 1.67 lakh units Bajaj exported are its highest ever numbers for the international markets. This resulted in almost very similar numbers for the company as last year, balancing the registers!
