The next big thing in the Pulsar line-up, the VS400, has been delayed! In an interview to MoneyControl, Mr S Ravikumar, President, Business Development, Bajaj Auto, has revealed that the Pulsar VS400 launch has been pushed back due to the upcoming festive rush.
This does come as a surprising move as earlier, the company supremo, Mr Rajiv Bajaj, had confirmed the bike for an August launch. Mr Ravikumar had in fact later said it will be launched in the July-September quarter. However, giving way to the strong rush due to the festive demand, the bike will not be launched even in October.
Here’s what Mr Ravikumar had to say:
“Number one is this festival, the entire industry is looking at a good set of numbers and there is a lot of activity which is happening there in the supply chain and the factories and we thought that this is very important. So, we are now concentrating deliberately by design. We have pushed the Pulsar launch to a later date, exact date we will announce a bit later, but right now, this and next month, we are going to be concentrating on feeding the festive demand.”
Every year, the time period around Diwali has traditionally been the period of bumper sales. Manufacturers often try to line their major launches around the festive season to get a strong initial push. With the Bajaj management expecting the new Pulsar VS400 to disrupt the market, an initial momentum would have been a great step to build on.
