The maxi-scooter was first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020, and will take on the Suzuki Burgman, when launched.
The Italian automaker – Aprilia showcased its new maxi-scooter SXR 160 at the Auto Expo 2020, and ever since then, it has been a wait for its launch. However, this wait may not be very long. After Aprilia officially teased it with a ‘Coming Soon‘ ticker recently, a new online report claims that the first Italian maxi-scooter in India will be hitting the dealerships in the next couple of weeks.
The company will, reportedly, launch the SXR160 before 15 December 2020. Once launched, it will be one of the biggest and the costliest scooter to be retailed in India, till the Forza 350 arrives here.
SXR160 will share its engine with the SR 160, which churns out 11 PS of maximum power and 11.2 Nm of torque. However, there are expected to be minor changes to the tune of the engine. The response may also differ slightly because of smaller tyres. Apart from that, the SXR 160 will also get retuned suspension.

In terms of features, it will have a fully digital instrument cluster with optional smartphone connectivity, apron mounted storage box, USB charging, etc.

Talking about the price, the scoot may cost as high as Rs. 1.20-1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Some dealers have also started taking unofficial bookings of the scooter at a token amount of Rs. 5000.
