Yamaha is NOT Taking Fazer 25 to BS6 in 1st Phase; Is it Discontinued?

Yamaha Fazer 25 discontinued? If yes, is it the end of the brand ‘Fazer’ from India? Yamaha is not taking it to BS6 in first phase!

Moments back Yamaha has shared a press note in which it specifies that the company has introduced its first lineup of BS6 compliant motorcycles and scooters already. It has, then, talked about all the products it has updated recently to the stringent emission norms. Here is the lineup…

If you look closely, it has talked about its upcoming FZS 25 as well (which we believe may come in the second half of this year). But there is no mention of the updated BS6 compliant Fazer 25.

The 150cc Fazer is already out of the market. Does this mean that this is the end of the road for the quarter liter Fazer as well? Since Yamaha does not share individual sales figures of the FZ25 and Fazer 25 separately (they are clubbed under one head – FZ25), we will never come to know what numbers was it doing. But considering that we have hardly seen a lot of them on the road, the response may have been lacklustrous.

Fazer 25 discontinued
Here is the new FZS 25 that Yamaha will launch this year

These are big hints that the Fazer 25 may NOT be updated to the BS6 emission norms and may eventually get discontinued in the process. If this goes true, this may mean the end of the brand ‘Fazer’ from the Indian market. If you would want to still own one, you can go on a hunt in your city’s Yamaha authorized dealerships (and bargain a bit if you find one 😉 ).
