FZ25 Cheaper by Rs 1050: Latest Prices of all Yamaha Motorcycles Post-GST with Comparo

So far, the net tax on locally made motorcycles was 30 percent. However, it has been reduced to 28 percent in GST (Goods & Service Tax) for motorcycles under 350cc whereas it has seen a spike to 31 percent for 350 cc plus bikes (including cess).

What this means is that all Yamaha’s locally produced motorcycles have become cheaper since all of them fall under the 350cc range. Being the costliest bike in the portfolio, FZ25 has seen the highest price reduction of Rs 1050 on the ex-showroom Delhi price. Interestingly, the quantum of decrease is under 1 percent for every motorcycle.

R15 has also seen a price drop of Rs 950

Quantum of price reduction will depend on respective states and it may be higher in some and lower in others. These new prices came into effect from 1st July and Mr Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Yamaha India, is hopeful of GST accelerating market demand.

He also elaborated that two-wheeler industry faced challenges like emission upgrades and demonetisation which have affected the growth. However, there is no word on the return of the R3 which was discontinued in March this year because of the BS4 emission norms. Yamaha’s upcoming products in India are Fazer 250 and Nozza Grande.
