After announcing it around three months back, Yamaha has officially launched the sporty-looking 2022 RayZR 125 Fi and the Street Rally 125 in India.
The highlight of the RayZR 125 Fi & Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid is the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) System that gets the Hybrid System functionality.
SMG acts as an electric motor to provide power assist when you accelerate from a halt thus reducing the start out wobbles or instability during uphill climbs.
If the throttle cuts back or the RPM exceeds the advised level then Power Assist is disabled automatically. The instrument panel has an indicator dedicated to the Power Assist function to denote its status.
The SMG also acts as a motor. It can reverse the direction of electricity release, providing benefits such as Quiet Engine Start System, Automatic Stop & Start System.
2022 RayZR 125 Hybrid Price
The new Yamaha RayZR 125 has been priced at INR 76,830 for the drum brake variant and INR 79,830 for the disc trim (ex-showroom Delhi). This is a hike of around INR 3500 over the older model. The Jap is targeting the age group 18-40 as its potential customers.
On the other hand, the Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid is offered in a single disc brake variant at INR 83,830 (ex-showroom Delhi) – a hike of INR 6500.
2021 Yamaha RayZR Teased: To Get HYBRID Tech
Both the hybrid scooters are powered by an air-cooled, fuel-injected, 125 cc blue core engine that delivers a power output of 8.2 PS at 6500 rpm and maximum torque of 10.3 Nm at 5000rpm. Both the machines share the same kerb weight of 99 kg.
Yamaha has equipped them with an advanced LED headlight, digital instrument cluster with an indicator showing the Hybrid System status.

They also get the Unified Brake System, side stand engine cutoff switch, and USB Bluetooth connectivity with the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X app.
