Yamaha’s R15 is a very popular product not just in India but in a lot of other countries, which includes Indonesia as well. Recently, Honda updated its CBR150R in the Southeast Asian country and in a direct response, arch rival Yamaha has also announced a new R15 in that market.
The 2021 R15 is now offered in fresher color of Matte Silver which is accentuated by yellow colored wheels. Other two shades include Matte Black and Metallic Blue. In this latest update, clearly the Matte Silver color becomes the pick of the shades and it is the lone light shade in the list.

There are no changes to the mechanicals which means the model continues to be powered by the same 155cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine which comes with variable valve actuation (VVA). The model produces 14.2 KW (19.3 PS) of peak power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of max torque at 8500 rpm. Both these numbers are higher than the India spec model because our version is Bharat Stage 6 compliant which comes with a little detuning.

Price has also remained unchanged at IDR 37,080,000 which is roughly equal to 1.93 Lakh in INR on road in Jakarta. Indian model is priced at Rs 1.49 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

In India Honda no longer sells the CBR150R so we are not really sure what would be the trigger point of a new R15 here. However, the last update was in the first half of 2020 which means we may be nearing one for this year as well. You can check last year color changes here.
