2020 Hero Splendor BS6 price hike is roughly 12-13 percent which is a significant amount for an entry level motorcycle.
In its pursuit to adhere to the upcoming Bharat Stage 6 emission norms, Hero has also updated its best selling motorcycle – Splendor with the requisite changes. But unlike the new Passion and Glamour, the versatile motorcycle makes do with very little changes.
As a first, the same old Honda’s 97.2 cc engine has been updated which may have required extensive changes. It now gets fuel injected and produces 7.91 bhp of peak power at 8000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. For reference, the older version churned 8.36 PS (8.25 bhp) at 8000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 5000 rpm. This means that the motorcycle has lost 0.34 bhp of peak power and the torque now peaks 1000 rpm later.

Prices of the older models were ₹52,800, ₹54,800 & ₹56,200 which means that the hike is ₹6800, ₹7100 & ₹6910 respectively which corresponds to a rise between 12-13 percent on the motorcycle!

Hero will continue selling the Splendor in three variants with alloy wheels as standard. It will be available in five colour combinations – Black with purple, black with grey, black with red, red/black/purple and ebony green with green.

Basically, Hero has tried not to alter a massive-selling formula and to keep costs in check, there aren’t many new features as well. With fuel injection, we believe the motorcycle will become smoother and more fuel efficient.
