2020 Xtreme 160R launch date is just next month and it will definitely bring Hero back into the reckoning in this 150cc segment…
Barely have we reported about Hero’s exit from the 150cc segment with the discontinuation of its Xtreme Sports, the India’s largest seller has surprised with its new Xtreme 160R – a new production motorcycle which is based on the Xtreme 1R concept revealed recently.
Xtreme 160R looks extremely impressive and it has got possibly the best styled rear section in the segment. It also appears that after a lot of hits and trials Hero has got the dual shade right on this one.
A new air-cooled, fuel injected, 160cc, Bharat Stage 6 compliant engine does duty which is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is good for 15 bhp of peak power at 8500 rpm and 14 Nm of max torque at 6500 rpm. It weighs 138.5 kilos only and with a very impressive power to weight ratio Hero claims a 0 to 60 kmph sprint in just 4.7 seconds.
Xtreme 160R comes equipped with 37 mm telescopic shock absorbers at the front along with a 7-step adjustable rear mono-shock. It gets LED headlamp, H-shaped LED tail lamp along with LED side blinkers. Further, it is equipped with 130 mm, 17 inch radial rear tyre along with 276 mm front and 220 mm rear petal disc brakes. Other features include inverted digital display along with side stand engine cut off.
