390 Adventure-Rival 2020 BMW G310 GS BS6 Spotted Testing [Again]

2020 G310GS BS6 launch anytime soon now that it has started final tests in India. Will the baby ADV be able to fight out the new KTM rival?

KTM has taken the game ahead and it directly competes with BMW’s dual sport G310 GS which is the smallest motorcycle in the German makers portfolio (along with the roadster sibling G310 R). With India transitioning to Bharat Stage 6 emission norms, no maker can sell BS4 motorcycles any more.

Since the G310s are not BS6 compliant yet, they are not on sale at the moment. However, it won’t be too long before you can book one. The updated versions of these twins were spotted testing in India again. You can check spy pics of the 2020 G310 here.

The baby GS is spotted in Matt black color without any camouflage at all. In terms of changes, there appears to be a narrower beak and the complete engine assembly (including the crankcase cover, etc) is now blackened. The headlamps are now LED units and the side blinkers also appear to have received LEDs instead of conventional bulbs. Rest of the styling is very similar to the BS4 version.

The 313cc engine will continue to power the dual sport motorcycle but it will get tweaks for compliance (and so will the exhaust system). No significant power or torque drop is expected. The 2020 model is also expected to get a refreshed (and more functional) instrument cluster.

All these 310s, including the Apache RR 310, are manufactured by TVS at its Hosur plant. TVS has already launched its updated Apache with a host of major changes, including riding modes. Will they percolate to the BMWs is not known yet. Launch can be expected anytime soon…
