Access BS6 launch three months ahead of schedule, in all probability, before the largest selling Activa 110. It may also get a new skin…
Access is Suzuki’s largest selling two-wheeler in India and it forms majority of sales for the Japanese brand in the domestic market. In fact, it is the lone product which has helped Suzuki sail through this massive slowdown, with positive numbers.
Despite Honda’s near monopoly in the scooter segment, it has not been able to do as well in the 125cc scooters which means that Suzuki maintains the lead here by a comfortable margin.
Suzuki has been aggressive with respect to its Access and has been lending features to the scoot at regular intervals. Now, the next big change is coming soon. One of our reliable source and an avid BikeAdvice reader has revealed that Suzuki will begin its BS6 onslaught from December onwards. He discloses that Suzuki will officially launch the Access BS6 in first week of December. He also shared a few changes the scoot is likely to get..
- Introduction of fuel injection
- LED headlamp and tail light
- Possibility of external fuel cap
Honda also had to retort to fuel injection to make its Activa 125 BS6 compliant and it is a similar case with the new Splendor iSmart which also comes with a slightly bigger engine.
The likeliness of an external fuel cap hints at the possibility of the scoot getting external design changes as well and this may not be a mere engine upgrade only.

We also believe that the existing BS4 Access may continue for the coming few months so that Suzuki does not get a direct hit till the stricter emission norms kick in (in April 2020).
