Apart from the externally placed fuel lid, Access BS6 features host of other changes in this transition to Bharat Stage VI. We have the exclusive details…
We revealed in mid November that Suzuki will launch the new Access BS6 in the first week of December (link to our story). The updated scoot has actually been shown to the company’s dealers on 5th December in a highly confidential meet in Bangalore. Though pictures were not allowed to be taken, but we have some exclusive information on what features is it getting.
2020 Access BS6 Features
- LED Headlights & Tail Lights
- Fuel injection
- External Fuel Filling
- New colours
- New digital meter
- Slightly modified headlamp design
- Increased underseat storage
Among them, the most useful feature is the movement of the fuel cap from under the seat to somewhere on its tail. This will save a rider of all the hassles of getting down from the saddle, balancing the scooter, opening the seat while reaching out to the key hole (under the handle), and then again shutting the seat after refuel, etc.

An externally placed fuel lid will allow the rider to simply refuel by twisting the key – all by remaining seated on his scoot at the fuel station. Considering the trend, chances are that the new Access will be fuel injected, however, we still have not got any concrete sneak on it yet. We now have the confirmation that the new Access will be fuel injected. Honda has already announced war in this segment against the largest selling 125cc scooter by introducing its Activa 125 FI which has received a good response from the market.
