Yamaha YZF R15 Updated in Malaysia

Yamaha has revealed the 2020 Yamaha YZF-R15 V3 with three new colour schemes and some graphic updates in Malaysia.

The three new colour options are Race Blue, Matte Yellow and Black. Yamaha has refreshed the existing colour themes and there are a few new decals here and there. The matte grey colour remains the best looking (yes its more grey than yellow but Yamaha calls it yellow for some reason).

Apart from the visual changes, Yamaha has made no changes to the mechanicals of the bike. The R15 remains powered by the phenomenal 155 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, SOHC engine which produces 19.3 PS of peak power and 14.7 Nm of max torque. The engine is mated to 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

Braking is via 282 mm and 220 mm disc brakes at the front and rear respectively. Suspensions are handled by inverted front forks and preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. However, Indian units are equipped with conventional telescopic front forks to keep prices in check. The Malaysian model does not receive ABS as standard while in India, the bike is equipped with dual channel ABS as standard.

Yamaha has hinted that R15 BSVI may cost close to 1.55-1.60 lakh, up from its current price of 1.42 Lakh.
