Japanese two-wheeler maker Yamaha has also joined this list of manufacturers deciding to halt production at their plants in the wake of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yamaha will shut its manufacturing facilities from 15 May 2021 to 31 May 2021.

Yamaha has two factories in India – Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. Both of them will stop production. This half-month long shutdown is being undertaken to break the chain of COVID and help in the fight against this pandemic which has caused havoc in the second wave. Employees in other areas will continue work from home.
