Yamaha FZ BS6 price hike is among the lowest we have seen in this conversion. The motorcycle has also seen a decent torque increase…
Yamaha has announced the official launch of its BS6 lineup in India starting with the most popular FZ range. The company has introduced the 2020 FZ FI and FZ-S FI adhering to the upcoming emission norm mandate which gets enforced from April 2020.
The 2020 FZ twins continue with the same 149cc, 2 valve, SOHC, fuel injected engine however there has been changes to the power and torque outputs of this motor. On the new version, it produces 12.4 PS of peak power at 7250 rpm which is 0.8 PS lesser but comes in 750 rpm earlier. It churns out 13.6 Nm of max torque at 5500 rpm which 0.8 Nm higher and also peaks in 500 rpm earlier. It looks like the response graph has been concentrated slightly in the lower revs. The compression ratio has also been altered from 9.5:1 to 9.6:1.
The new FZ-S has also received a new colour palette and it is now available in – Matt Black, Dark Matt Blue, Gray and Cyan Blue along with the new Dark Night (special edition) and Metallic Red. 2020 Yamaha R15 BS6 Power Output Revealed
The price hike is Rs 2520 across the range which is the lowest among all the transitions we have seen so far. This implies, Yamaha was gradually moving towards the newer emissions for the last few months/years. Rest of the lineup will also be converted to BS6 norms soon and we do not expect a massive hike on at least the fuel injected variants, specially the R15.
