Yamaha surprised everyone by announcing its exit from the 110cc scooter market. It was slipping from the charts and it devised a completely different strategy to make a comeback. Instead of the entry level segment which has a lot of competition, Yamaha ventured into the 125 cc space which has relatively better chances of making inroads.
And the company introduced three new models – Fascino 125, Ray ZR 125 and Ray ZR Street Rally 125. The Fascino was Yamaha’s largest selling scooter and it still does pretty well. It was launched at Rs 66,430 in December 2019. However, within eleven months, the scooter has received multiple price hikes. Here are the respective increases on different variants..

The latest price hike is Rs 800 across all the variants in the lineup and the effective increment is roughly 4-5 percent over the original price.
The new Fascino comes with a 125 cc fuel injected engine which can produce 8.2 PS of power and 9.7 Nm of torque – both the figures are higher than before. This means that it gains a lot of performance over the older model. We have discussed the respective gain here.
