Yamaha is announced a launch event on 21st September ie tomorrow. Apart from the ‘R’ badged new motorcycle, there is more action planned. The company has teased another product for tomorrow on its social media handles. There is an ‘X’ shaped teaser which reads –
The Maxi Sports Experience Awaits
This directly hints at the big possibility of it being the Aerox! Back in 2018 the Jap had showcased the 155cc scooter in India.
Maxi scooters are gaining popularity in India and that has made Yamaha consider one for our market as well. With the launch of Aerox 155, Yamaha’s scooter lineup will see an upgrade from the regular 125cc scooters. Yamaha Indian will also release the much-awaited R15M.
Talking of powertrain, Yamaha Aerox is equipped with the same 155cc engine that powers the popular YZF R15 and MT 15. The expected power delivery of the scooter is 14.75 bhp.

The Yamaha Aerox will be equipped with an all-LED lighting system. It will support Bluetooth connectivity and can connect to the Yamaha Y-Connect smartphone app to know about service updates, ride history, parking history, etc.
Yamaha’s Big Bang Launch Tomorrow; R15M Coming
The Aerox will also feature an LCD instrument console along with other features such as hazard lights, keyless entry, engine start/stop, and a 25-liter storage capacity. All the details get revealed tomorrow at 11 am!
