Vespa 150 BS6 Spotted; Gets Fuel Injection

Aprilia SR150 and Vespa 150 BS6 launch expected in the coming few weeks; One such specimen has been spotted.

Piaggio has seen a significant reduction in sales in the 150cc scooter segment in the first seven months of this financial year. Its SR150 and the Vespa 150s have come down from 23,112 units last year to 12,198 units this year, signalling a drop of almost 50 percent! But it must be noted that it is the only company selling 150cc scooters in the market at the moment.

In a latest update, the company has been spotted testing its BS6 150cc engine in one of the Vespas. The report reveals that the scooter gets fuel injection to achieve enhanced emissions but its specs may continue unaltered. The current 150cc BS4 engine of Vespas churn 10.03 PS of peak power at 6750 rpm and 10.9 Nm of max torque at 5000 rpm for reference.

This is the same engine that will go to the Aprilia SR150 as well, however, speculations suggest that it may now be branded as SR 160 for some reasons. There are very minor differences in the Vespa SXL that has been spotted, like a slightly modified end can, cubby holes etc.
