Royal Enfield is battling with very dry sales. It is still miles ahead of others in its product segments but there is a definite loss of interest in its products. Its bread and butter Classic range has been around unchanged for the last many years.
Taking stock of the situation, the Chennai based manufacturer has chalked out a revival plan which included the oncoming of a new industry veteran Vinod Dasari as its new CEO. Apart from tightening the noose on various other aspects, the company has decided to launch new products in the market to widen its appeal and reach out to a new customer base.
We have already seen multiple motorcycles under test on our roads. We already know that the company has trademarked at least four new names – Sherpa, Hunter, Flying Flea and Roadster (details) – which may be used as commercial names for its upcoming products.
In a new update, an online report has come up which claims that the company has scheduled a new motorcycle launch in India towards the end of April (ie just next month). This product is internally codenamed as ‘JID‘. Further details about the upcoming motorcycle – like what branding will it use, what form will it adorn, which engine will it use, etc are not known at this point.

Earlier in December 2019, there was a speculation about a new motorcycle codenamed as ‘J1C’ which could turn out to be a roadster. Few days later, two mysterious roadster styled motorcycles were spotted testing. You can check their spy pics here.
