‘Lot of Action Next Quarter Including a New SKU’, Reveals Rajiv Bajaj

Lot of upcoming Bajaj products are lined up and some of them are real interesting. Bajaj says it is firing on all cylinders & expects good growth…

In an interview to CNBC TV18, Rajiv Bajaj, the top boss from Bajaj Auto, had spilled a lot of beans on the company’s current performance as well as its future plans. Aside from what we have already talked about, Rajiv says, there is a lot of action next quarter…

The company will unveil a new Chetak in the electric vehicle segment, a new breakthrough CNG motorcycle and Triumph’s production expansion. He elaborates that there will be a new Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) as well that will be added to the portfolio.

So a lot of action next quarter, Chetaks and CNG motorcycle, Triumph, and we will also add a brand new stock keeping unit (SKU). So that will make it the third product in our portfolio, which should help us to further energise this growth rate of ours.

Bajaj unveiled the refreshed Chetak earlier this year and chances are that we may see a new product from the brand in the electric vehicle space, under the Chetak umbrella. Then comes the much talked about CNG motorcycle which is expected to be the most fuel efficient product in the market. Prices, exact engine size are the two things that are awaited, obviously apart from the actual form the motorcycle will adorn.

upcoming Bajaj products
Expect some action on the Chetak brand as well…

A new Triumph motorcycle is also being promised by Bajaj but that, I believe, will come later in the year (more details). For now, Bajaj is busy expanding the whole supply chain, including production, of the 400cc Triumphs and it is expected to touch 10,000 units a month by the festive season.

The SKU that Rajiv Bajaj has hinted is probably the new Triumph motorcycle that is set to debut later this year. This is probably why he said it will be the third product in the portfolio.

Aside this, the biggest ever Pulsar, most probably the Pulsar NS400, is on the anvil and it could come as early as next month. This goes along with the updates Bajaj has given to the current motorcycle line-up, including the Pulsars. So, Bajaj says it is firing from all cylinders and this is what is reflecting in its performance as well.

With Bajaj keeping things on the boil, Hero MotoCorp joining the big motorcycle play and TVS on its toes, things are going to get exciting this year, for sure!
