Smaller KTM 250 Adventure Also Revealed

KTM 250 Adventure launch is expected soon in Indonesia. It may also get introduced in India along with the 390 ADV this December…

KTM was expected to showcase the 250 Adventure at the ongoing EICMA 2019 along with the 390 Adventure. However, only the latter was unveiled and there was nothing on the quarter liter from KTM, till it was revealed on the official Indonesian website.

As expected, the 250 Adventure looks very similar to the 390 Adventure sans a few features. It is powered by Duke 250’s single cylinder 248.8 cc, DOHC engine which produces 22 Kw (or 30 PS) of peak power and 24 Nm of maximum torque. The six-speed gearbox comes equipped with a slipper clutch.

It comes with long travel suspension – front 170 mm, rear 177 mm, along with a fuel tank capacity of 14.5 liters. It has neat ground clearance of 200 mm but a raised seat height of 855 mm which is high for an average Indian rider. The bike weighs 156 kg dry which makes it 2 kilos lighter than the 390 Adventure. Braking duties are performed by a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear rotor.

For differentiation with the elder sibling, 250 misses out on a few features like LED headlamps (in place is a halogen bulb with LED DRLs) and adjustable front suspension. One of the pic at the website confirms the presence of what looks like a TFT display but it may miss out on a few features. The motorcycle is listed in two colours – orange and black.

Since it has shown up first in Indonesia, this South Asian country is, for sure, getting the motorcycle. A report speculates upcoming IBW (6-7 Dec) as the launch date of the 390 Adventure (more details). Let us hope to either see the 250 Adventure at this event or hear something concrete about it for our domestic market.
