Two-Wheeler Sales June 2020: Honda reported its sales numbers which show significant improvement as compared to May 2020, however, it had a 55% drop YoY.
Japanese automaker Honda’s Indian motorcycle division – Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) reported its sales figures for the month of June 2020, and it is a kind of a mixed bag for them. Because, while the company managed to post a four-time jump in June sales as compared to May, the overall numbers are down 55% as compared to June 2019.
However, we should note that it is not only Honda, but all the automakers are suffering from major sales drops due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But such an increment in monthly numbers is a positive sign and things are seemingly returning to normalcy. Honda also informed that it has opened over 95% percent of its dealerships and touchpoints across the country.
In its press release, Honda stated that it sold 210,879 units of its motorcycles and scooters in June 2020, as compared to 54,820 units they registered in May 2020. Breaking them down, 202,837 units were dispatched in the domestic market while 8,042 units were exported out of India.
