Another major player, TVS Motor registered total sales of 2,26,193 units in the first month of the new financial year. Out of this, 1,31,386 units were sold in the domestic market. It managed to wholesale 133,227 motorcycles as compared to 65,213 scooters. TVS exported 94,807 two-wheelers in this month.
Since India was under lockdown, last April’s numbers of 8134 units are not very significant. Even April 2021’s dispatches are low considering the restrictions and curbs that have been implemented across a lot of states in the country because of COVID-19.
The company further informs that it has lowered dealer inventory to support its channel partners. It also appears to have lowered production and said that it will increase production based on customer demand.
