The cafe-racer version of the Ronin will get different styling while features and engine specs are likely to be the same as standard model
TVS Motor Company has filed the design patent of Ronin Cafe Racer in the Indian market. The brand is leveraging the motorcycle’s growing popularity to offer it in multiple body types, including a cafe-racer version. If we look at the sales data, TVS Ronin clocked an average monthly sales of 4000-5000 units in 2025. However, in the last few months, the sales volume of the bike has reached to 8000 units per month. Hence, a new cafe-racer model is being developed to further accentuate the sales figures and give the buyers more choice.
Built on the same platform as the stock bike, the cafe-racer model boasts of sportier graphics. The design patent images show a swept-back visor at front which is completely integrated in the headlamp unit. A few other noticeable design elements include rear-set footpegs, clip-on handlebars, quarter fairing, committed riding stance and upswept exhaust pipe.
The patent images reveal that TVS Ronin Cafe Racer will be introduced with a sleek single-piece seat and an integrated rear cowl. It is believed that the production-ready model will get track-style numbering on the rear cowl. Fitted with race-focused tyres, the Ronin cafe-racer houses a centrally-positioned round instrument cluster which is different from the standard model.

Just so you know, TVS had previously showcased a custom-built version of the Ronin cafe racer with retro-style whitewall tyres at the MotoSoul 2025. The majority of the elements seen in the patent images have been directly borrowed from the custom-built model. Although the fuel tank and alloy wheels are shared with the regular model of the Ronin. It has been learnt that the cafe-racer version could be rolled out with a few exclusive paint shades.
At the heart, the Ronin Cafe Racer will continue with the same 225.9 cc single-cylinder oil-cooled petrol engine. The power and torque figures are also likely to remain unchanged at 20 bhp at 7750 rpm and 19.93 Nm at 3750 rpm, respectively. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed gearbox. TVS might make subtle tweaks to the engine for a better response to suit the cafe-racer body style.

The filing of design patent indicates that TVS has begun work on the cafe-racer model and it could be launched in the next 6-8 months in the Indian market. TVS Ronin cafe-racer could make for an exciting and unique choice in the 200-250cc segment of motorcycles. There are not many options in this segment for the buyers and hence it could achieve decent sales numbers upon its launch.
