2 Upcoming Royal Enfield Motorcycles in Next 8-9 Months in India

If you are a Royal Enfield fanboy/fangirl and waiting for new motorcycles, then it is time to celebrate as two RE bikes are confirmed to launch soon in India

Royal Enfield has the widest portfolio in the 350cc segment of motorcycles in the Indian market. Apart from that, the company retails 450cc and 650cc bikes in the country as well. Now, it has been learnt that the Chennai-based two-wheeler brand is planning to expand its 450cc model line-up with the introduction of two all-new motorcycles in India. Presently, it retails three motorcycles in the 450cc segment namely Himalayan 450, Guerrilla 450 and Scram 440. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the 2 upcoming Royal Enfield motocycles slated to launch in India in the next 8-9 months.

1. Royal Enfield Himalayan 440

Internally codenamed as D4G, Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is likely to launch in the second half of 2026 in the Indian market. It will be the spiritual successor to the Himalayan 411 which was discontinued in late 2023 after the Himalayan 450 went on sale. The Himalayan 440 would be positioned between Scram 440 and Himalayan 450 while expected to be priced around 2.50-2.70 lakh (ex-showroom).

Presently, the 443cc single-cylinder long-stroke petrol engine powers only the Scram 440 and hence, the company is planning to roll out another model on this engine platform. We can expect the upcoming Himalayan 440 to have a lower seat height and lesser price than the Himalayan 450. It is not likely to pack multiple premium features, except the switchable ABS and Tripper navigation pod. The Himalayan 440 will miss out on ride modes and traction control.

The overall design will be heavily influenced by the original Himalayan 411, albeit with premium colours and modern graphics. The same LED headlamp setup is likely to be offered with the upcoming adventure bike, as we see in the latest RE motorcycles. The suspension travel is going to be longer while it will ride on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, which are shod with tubed dual-purpose tyres.

2. Royal Enfield Scram 450

Internally codenamed as K2K, Royal Enfield Scram 450 will go on sale in early 2027 to rival riumph Scrambler 400 X/XC models in the Indian market. It will be positioned between the Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan 450 with an expected price of Rs 2.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite being powered by the same 452cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled Sherpa engine, the Scram 450 will come with revised chassis and distinct design language.

It has been learnt that the motorcycle will ride on a 19-inch front wheel as compared to the 21-inch unit seen on the Himalayan 450. However, the rear wheel is expected to be the same at 17-inch in order to offer decent saddle height. Needless to state, Royal Enfield Scram 450 will be offered with dual-purpose tyres as standard. However, it is still unclear whether wire-spoke wheels will be available with tubeless tyres or not.
