With the price points expanding massively specially in the last couple of years due to the excessive price hikes on products, almost all manufacturers see a lot of room for new motorcycles and scooters to be placed within.
Taking a leaf out of its Ntorq, which is doing great sales for the brand, TVS saw this opportunity to create a sports oriented 125cc motorcycle and place it bang against its rivals like ShineSP, Pulsar 125, etc. This all-new motorcycle is called as Raider and it is built on what TVS calls as a global platform.
Raider comes with a new 3 Valve, 124.8 cc engine that is good for 11.4 PS of peak power at 7500 rpm and segment-best 11.2 Nm of max torque which comes at 6000 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
TVS is harping a lot on the motorcycle’s performance and claims a sub 6 second 0 to 60 kph sprint and a top speed of 99 kph, which is almost comparable to higher segment bikes.
Key features of Raider include aggressive DRLs, LED headlamp, power and eco ride modes, split seat, negative LCD instrumentation with many segment-new features, idle start-stop technology, etc.

TVS will also be introducing a new premium variant of Raider later which will come with SmartXonnect. It will offer the additional functionality of smartphone pairability, turn by turn navigation, phone alerts and a lot more.

The company hasn’t shared how much will the premium version with SmartXonnect cost yet. The motorcycle is available in four colors – yellow, red, black and blue.
