TVS has identified its playing fields and is going all guns blazing. Apart from a new ‘sporty’ 125cc motorcycle – likely to be Fiero – TVS Joint MD, Sudarshan Venu has also confirmed a new scooter.
In fact, he has revealed the name as well – Jupiter 125. The Jupiter 125 will be TVS’ second scooter in the 125cc segment aside its very popular Ntorq. Sudarshan confirmes that the upcoming Jupiter 125 will be based on the 110cc Jupiter’s platform.
Unlike the Ntorq that targets youth and performance seekers, Jupiter will, likely be a more family oriented scooter which will use Ntorq’s 125cc motor. Power and torque figures may be slightly lesser or at par (with Ntorq).
Sudarshan has also confirmed that the Jupiter 125 will be launched before the end of this month of September.
It must be noted that TVS has invited us for a media ride scheduled for tomorrow. However, event details have been embargoed till 16th September – which is when it has scheduled the launch of this product. It could be the speculated Fiero 125 or Jupiter 125, or both.

Sudarshan is also hopeful of a high-demand festive season and the company expects high volumes from the new products it is introducing in the high-volume entry level segment.

Current Jupiter is TVS’ largest selling scooter in India and with the 125cc version, it hopes to attract buyers who are looking for more power, and probably features.
