TVS sales for June 2022 show a promising picture for the company… Motorcycle sales are the only anomaly here…
For TVS Motors, the sales numbers are in for May 2022 and are all positive when considering the numbers YoY and MoM, except for motorcycles sales.
The company registered a Gross Sales of 2,93,715 units in June 2022. This is a growth of 23.36% compared to 2,38,092 units registered in June 2021.

Year-over-Year
The TVS two-wheeler sales compared to June of last year have grown in all, but one criterion – Motorcycles.
Motorcycles – The motorcycle sales numbers stood at 1,46,075 units in June 2022, a decline of a meagre 0.54% compared to 1,46,874 units sold in June 2021.
Scooters – The scooter sales stood at 1,05,211 units, a rise of a significant 94.99% compared to 53,956 units sold in June 2021.
Moped – On similar lines, the mopeds registered a growth of 13.87%, growing from 37,262 units sold in June of last year to 42,239 units sold this year in June.
This totals to Domestic Sales of 1,93,090 units for June 2022. A growth of 32.79% compared to 1,45,413 units registered in June 2021.
The Exports of two-wheelers, similarly, showed an upward trend, expanding by 8.57%, increasing from 92,679 units in June of the previous year to 1,00,625 units in June 2022.
Month-over-Month
The MoM sales follow a similar pattern to YoY sales for June 2022. All the criteria are in green except one. .
Motorcycles – Compared to sales of May 2022, motorcycle sales fell by 1.67%, down from 1,48,560 units.
Scooters – The scooter sales, however, grew MoM by 4.52%, increasing from 1,00,665 units sold in the previous month.
Mopeds – Following the trend, the mopeds too expanded by 12.15%, up from 37,833 units sold in the previous month.
The Domestic Sales expanded by a meagre 0.84% MoM.
While the Exports expanded by 5.28%, increasing from 95,567 units exported in the previous month.
