Bajaj Auto has pulled the plug on three of its motorcycles in the Indian market owing to low sales numbers
Bajaj Auto has discontinued three motorcycles from its portfolio in the Indian market. It has been learnt that Bajaj Platina 110 ABS, Bajaj Pulsar F250 and Bajaj CT125X have been phased out from the domestic market due to deteriorating sales numbers. All these three motorcycles, launched over the last four years, have been removed from the brand’s official website in India. The Pune-based automaker is expected to unveil several new motorcycles in the commuter as well as performance segment at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on Jan 17.
Bajaj Platina 110 ABS
It was the only motorcycle in India under the 125cc segment to come with a single-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard safety feature. Being launched in Dec 2022, Bajaj Platina 110 ABS was priced at Rs 72,224 (ex-showroom). The ABS variant was the most expensive Platina model and hence, it couldn’t attract as many buyers. The sales numbers were poor and therefore Bajaj had to pull the plug on this motorcycle.
However, the drum variant with no ABS has not been axed by Bajaj as it continues to sell in good numbers across the country. The Platina 110 is equipped with a 115 cc single-cylinder petrol engine which develops top power of 8.4 bhp at 7,000 rpm and highest torque of 9.8 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed transmission. Bajaj Platina 110 rivals Hero HF Deluxe and Honda CD110 Dream in India.
Bajaj Pulsar F250
The semi-faired Pulsar F250 too has been phased out due to low sales. The bike was introduced in the second half of 2021 alongside the Pulsar N250. However, while the Pulsar N250 enjoyed a decent customer response, the F250 struggled to find buyers. It was presented as a more premium offering as compared to the Pulsar 220F, which is priced at 1.39 lakh. Yet, the sales never really took off while the Pulsar 220F continued to sell in good numbers.
Bajaj, however, still didn’t give up on the Pulsar F250 and introduced a facelifted version of the bike last year with multiple updates at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Finally, in 2025, Bajaj had no choice but to axe the Pulsar F250 in the Indian market as sales hit rock bottom. Though don’t be surprised if the Pulsar F250 makes a comeback in the next few years as the brand is known to bring back phased out models.
Bajaj CT125X
Last but not the least, the CT125X joins the bandwagon of discontinued models by Bajaj in India. Positioned above the CT110X in the company portfolio, Bajaj CT125X was priced in a range of Rs 71,354 – 74,554 as it undercut most of its rivals by a decent margin, even in the 110cc segment. This bike too faced the ire of buyers and hence, it won’t be seen again in the Indian market anytime soon.
