Suzuki Slingshot and Swish Discontinued in India

Suzuki was dillydallying with Swish and kept on giving incorrect responses when asked about its continuous zero sales since August 2016. They said that its production has been paused but they presented the story that it will come back. However, that is probably not gonna happen now as the company has discontinued the 125 cc scooter. An official stamp comes in the form of its slashing from the official website.

Yes, Swish no more features on the new Suzuki’s official website. It is the second scooter which has been axed from the lineup before the older Access 125 was removed.

Apart from Swish, Suzuki has also discontinued its only 125 cc motorcycle Slingshot. Slingshot never gained traction in the market and was a paltry seller. In the last one year of sales, it crossed double digit sales only in three months. For the month of January and February 2017, it registered 1 and 0 sales respectively, according to the official SIAM data.

Suzuki is pursuing with their 110 cc motorcycle Hayate which is also a slow seller. They have recently updated it to adhere to BS4 emission norms along with partner scooter Let’s (details and price).

Suzuki launched the Slingshot in 2010 whereas the Swish scooter was introduced in India at the 2012 Auto Expo.
