After showcasing it at the Auto Expo towards the start of this, Suzuki India has introduced the fuel injected Gixxer SF (FI) in the Gixxer family. Priced at Rs 93,499 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Gixxer SF Fi will be available only in the MotoGP edition and costs Rs 4,642 more than the equivalent carburetted trim. Availability too has been limited to major cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Kochi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The on-road price in Delhi is Rs 1,03,785.
While the management had earlier hinted at a power output difference for the fuel injected variant, however, the numbers have remain unchanged. The 154.9 cc single cylinder SOHC mill churns out 14.8 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The Gixxer SF FI also misses out on a kick and will be available only with an electric start.
The kerb weight has been maintained at the same 139 kg. While we have been very happy with the smooth throttle response of the entire Gixxer family, fuel injection will definitely help the bike have an even crisper response. More on that when we get a test unit. Yamaha’s Fazer is the other fuel injected faired/semi-faired motorcycle in the segment and to give you a comparison, it is priced at Rs 87,405 (ex-showroom, Delhi). You can read a comparo here…

Limited only to the rear disc versions they get a few cosmetic changes which include new graphics, Gixxer SP emblem, maroon coloured seat and clear lens tail lamp. Colour option has been limited to Matt fibroin grey/glass sparkle black paint scheme and going by these official images, both of them look really good.
