One of the biggest mystery in the world of motorcycles of recent times has been the Suzuki’s 250 cc Gixxer/GSX R250! Rumours and speculations, some revealing, have been making waves and it is about time we get something concrete!
In an remarkable update, a mysterious all-camouflaged motorcycle has been caught testing and its pics shared by Morebikes resemble the earlier concept sketches of Gixxer 250 (or GSX R250) and earlier spyshots of an unknown motorcycle (which appeared to be a Suzuki). The exhaust canister seems to have been inspired from the Gixxer 155. Same is the case with alloy wheels.
The seating posture, as is expected, appears to be a balance of too sporty and absolutely upright. The motorcycle gets rear petal discs and what appears to be a neat body shell with a high-perched pillion seat.
The engine may be an all new unit if it is being planned as a single cylinder or if Suzuki is working on a twin-cylinder 250 that we believe it may continue with a reworked Inazuma motor. Euro 4 compliance will be one of the first priorities for Suzuki as the European market is shifting to a stricter emission rule. Reports are also rife that Suzuki may also create a 300 cc version of the same motorcycle as has been the norm with other Japs.
This Gixxer 250 is expected to be showcased at the EICMA in Milan later in November. Unlike the more expensive options available in the segment, this one may miss out on upside down front forks and ABS may be offered as an optional extra.
