It was on the rumour boards and as you can expect for an upcoming product, online world was abuzz with speculative renderings of Suzuki’s 250 cc motorcycle. And here are the first leaked pics of what could be called as Gixxer 250, GSX-R250 or something else (we will use Gixxer 250 for easy reference). Credit and a big thanks to the respective owner of these pics.
There is no confirmation or proof of the country where these spy pics have been shot but it looks like some Suzuki facility. They confirm the presence of a 250cc from the JapsĀ and while it doesn’t look as flashy as some renderings but there is something very Suzuki about it! The quarter liter shares design inspirations from the bigger GSX-Rs and gets an all-digital instrument console reminding you of Gixxer and Gixxer SF (read review).
The Gixxer 250 gets split sets, rear disc brake and clip-on handlebars along with a well-chiselled fuel tank with an upward sweeping tail. These models, all in blue, are probably pre-production mules waiting for some stickerworks to go along with that muscle.
However, the biggest pending confirmation about the number of cylinders remain a question mark for now. Yes, these pics do not reveal whether the Gixxer 250 will be a single cylinder motorcycle or a twin, but we now have some concrete proof that the motorcycle is in the works.
An earlier online report had suggested that Suzuki may unveil the motorcycle at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo along with its Indian launch by March this year. Let us hope it goes true… 250s and 300s, beware!
