Gixxer 250 aka GSX-R250 May Launch as Soon as by March 2016 [Speculation]

Suzuki’s Gixxer SF and Gixxer 155 have been two motorcycles which sit at the pinnacle when we talk about the best 150 ccs in town (R15 excluded) and as a result sales are increasing every month. We have tested both the products comprehensively (have the SF as a long termer as well) and seriously it is difficult to find flaws with the bikes! It appears that the only gripe which we have against the Gixxer is that it is not a 250 😀

All that is about to change soon with the Gixxer 250 or GSX-R250, which is speculated to be under works. After missing the bus at EICMA 2015, as per an article on Bikewale, the Japanese manufacturer may showcase the bike as early as the Auto Expo in February and they say it may launch in March 2016 in India!

The report further adds that the bigger Gixxer will feature a new 250 cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection. It will also get an improved swingarm mated with better tyres. Even the brakes will get a boost with the addition of a rear disc and ABS. We would even love to see a bigger disc upfront.

The Gixxer 250 or GSX-R250 as it is likely to be called, will compete against the likes of Honda CBR 250R, KTM RC 200, Pulsar RS200 and Mahindra Mojo which have been slugging it out for supremacy currently.

However, with no spyshots and and concrete hints official or unofficial from Suzuki, we are a little sceptical of the launch timeline speculated here. It is under works, we know, but may or may not come so soon… Let us wait…
