Suzuki operates in China through a joint venture with Haojue Motorcycles and the company is called as Changzhou Haojue Suzuki Motorcycle ltd. This joint venture company is about to roll out the motorcycle you see on this page. It will be called as GSX-S300 under Suzuki’s moniker and DR300 in Haojue’s tag.
The Suzuki GSX-S300 is powered by a 298cc, twin cylinder, liquid cooled engine which belts out 29.2 PS of peak power at 8500 rpm and 27.8 Nm of max torque at 6500 rpm. The naked streetster is paired to a 6-speed geabox.
It has an aggressive stance with golden colored upside down front forks which enhance the already bold looks. The muscular body is flanked by a big, 16 liter, humped fuel tank and well contoured lines. It ends with an upswept rear and pointed LED tail lamps.
Other features include LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, clip-on handlebars, backlit switchgear, USB charging and fully digital instrument cluster along with the safety net of a dual channel ABS system from Bosch.
The motorcycle will go on sale in China towards the middle of this month. Houje also sells DR160 in China which looks like a miniature DR300.

Suzuki tried to go premium with the launch of the Inazuma few years back in India but owing to its conservative engine specs and higher price point it failed to attract the masses. As a result, the company decided to introduce a ground-up 250 single cylinder platform which now spawns Gixxer 250 as well as the Gixxer SF 250. It is not known if Suzuki will consider bringing the very handsome GSX-S300 into our market anytime soon…
