Yesterday I went to the Suzuki showroom in my city to question about the GS150R 150cc model. They said that it would take upto January to get the first bike. I expected to get a test ride, but at least I got a brochure from them. So here is some interesting information and pictures from the brochure. Courtesy, Suzuki India.

Presenting Suzuki GS150R, the never-before combination of stunning looks and raw power, guaranteed to make heads turn with its stylish, sporty design that will change the way India rides. This flagship model from the Suzuki stable comes equipped with superior technology to give you a never-before riding experience.

Presenting the worlds first eco-mode equipped engine rpm indicator. The GSX-R-inspired engine rpm indicator glows to give an indication to the rider about the optimum up-shift timings. This latest unit features a new selectable two mode (Eco & Power) function to cater to a wide range of riding needs and conditions.

Suzuki GS150R 150cc

Sporty Style Headlight: The stunning, powerful headlight with built-in positioning light is inspired from Suzuki’s international superbike GSX-R. It has been designed to give GS150R a very distinct look.

Suzuki GS150R

LED Tail Lamp & Integrated Rear Turn Signal: The super-sleek, streamlined aerodynamic shaped LED tail lamp and integrated rear turn signals based on the styling of GSX-R take the style quotient to the next level.

Majestic, Stronger Fuel lank: Majestic fuel tank brings high user satisfaction with the impression of being stronger.

Rear Suspension with Separate Reservoir Tank: The shock absorber has a separate oil reservoir, which facilitates oil cooling effectively. This in turn prevents the drop in performance caused by heating.

150cc Engine with a new design: The 150cc engine has been designed with a focus on acceleration performance in the low-to-mid range speed, which is most important in city riding. This ensures that you always enjoy a smooth, comfortable ride with the new Suzuki GS150R.

Engine Balancer Technology: In other motorcycles, vibration generated from inside the engine, by the vertical motion (inertial force) of the piston and rotating motion (centrifugal force) of the crankshaft, is transmitted through the handlebars, seat and footpegs to the rider.

Suzuki GS150R’s Engine balancer Technology seeks to minimize such vibration order to deliver a more comfortable riding experience. Moreover the balancer system is equipped with balancer-driven gear fitted with a rubber damber for reducing the impact noises generated by its meshing with the balancer-driver gear. A rubber damper and spring are installed inside the balancer-driven gear. (End of Brochure)

This technology seems to be a new and innovative one but it can be given credit only if we drive the bike and notice significant difference. The mid range torque phenomenon seems to be adopted from FZ16. Eventhough Suzuki claims that it would be a better quality ride in the city, I don’t think there can be a better street bike than Yamaha FZ16 as of now.

  1. This is really disappointing.. We expect much more from suzuki but GS150R sucks.. Suzuki has not learnt lessons from past mistakes.. How to describe this bike?? Dated looks, No monoshox, No rear disc, No 2-piece grabrail.. Alloy wheels and rear view mirrors from Zeus which look so old.. nothing gr8 abt headlamp unit and graphics.. and 149cc and 13.8 bhp?? Suzuki will proudly speak abt 6-speed gearbox and integrated tail lamp unit (really funny).. wake up suzuki.. We already have better bikes in this segment : FZ16, Apache RTR 160…

      • It does not suck. I’ll explain you. Monoshock does better but GS-150r’s swing arm does great and handles potholes easily. Does RTR160 have a monoshock? Rear discs are needed in bikes which cross a top speed of 165 kmph. So it is not mandatory. Split grab rails look great, but you cannot make it hold a helmet lock. FZ is a great bike but lacks top end power. Just have a test drive of this bike and then post your comment. I have ridden this bike. Really great. Jack of all trades! and master of some, as well.

  2. Bravo Suzuki… What an achivement !!! 149 cc/13.8 bhp bike? Just look at Apache RTR (and RTR FI too), You will come to know what Indian people want..(need to mention FZ16?) GS150R looks simple commuter bike (it is) so what is use of 6th gear? it is useless in city riding… We will right away throw your outdated model…

  3. 6 gear its really funny, and its look like apache. we expect more then it, Alloy wheels and rear view mirrors from Zeus which look so old.

  4. grow up guys.
its not just about the looks.i feel u guys only die for looks.
my question is to all of u, have u ever taken a ride at the time of writing this shit?

there are so many people who dont ride the bike in the city only, like me, and i really find this 6th gear advantageous.

and ohh please!! apache RTR 160 SUCKS!!!!
stunner is far more better than it.
it hasnt got any pull.even discover and stunner perform well than it.

this suzuki has length, is stringer, and is more comfortable than apache and cbz. (if not only look is concerned)

i used to die for unicorn’s comfort, power and performance on long routes, but i bet i have a second option now.

suzuki guys have experience and brain, and their products are not made for guys like u.

    stay calm!

  5. @Sheikh, I Agree its not just about the looks but When a international bike manufacturer like Suzuki is launching a fresh(?) model, We definitely expect more and small small things also matter a lot.. Offcourse it will have refined engine and smooth gearbox (It should have since it is Suzuki) but apart from that It should have proper looks.. It seems Suzuki did not take much pain to desing fresh model. They just used available moulds, parts and assembled them in GS150R. Why cant they provide better aerodynamic headlamp fairing, Momoshox (Since Unicorn already has monoshox), Better alloys, grab rails. Why cant they provide rear disc brake if they are giving 6 speed box? (and when TVS is providing it in Apache) If they are concerned about cost, they should provide different variants and higher-end model can have rear discs (Suzuki has already launched n number of variants for ‘zeus’ hence no need to teach them). The problem is they have taken for granted that everything will be a success with the name of Suzuki.. But the fact is, this bike looks like 1999 model which has been released with 6 speed gear box and digital speedo console..Please note, I am also Suzuki fan and I have used Samurai for 5 years in past and right now I have been using Suzuki Fiero (original model of 2000) and I am proud of it.. But GS150R is disappointing..

  6. I think Ajith and Manju have done ctrl+C and Ctrl+V (taken from earlier posts from Niraj and Mine)..May be same guys has posted both the messages 🙂

Now the question is Why the Zeus and Heat have failed in India? They too have perfect engine and gearbox which perform brilliantly. >>>>JUST BCOZ OF THE DATED LOOKS <<< Suzuki has done so many stickering jobs and given different variants but still we can not see them on roads. In international market original model of Zeus was launched long long back with different name but in India both were launched in 2006.

Now Compare Zeus with Bajaj XCD and latest Honda shine and CBF stunner. Suzuki has always underestimated Indian buyers thinking that they will be able to sell their outdated models in India.

Still there is a time Suzuki, Wake Up..

  7. Guys I had a ride on both GS150R and Unicorn, about Unicorn the biggest advantage is Vibration free engine with power though GS150 has better looks than Unicorn, 6 gears and digital meter attracts the most but riding experience on New Unicorn is better, I did not wanted to go for 150cc bikes because of less Mileage but when i had a ride on Unicorn, i became lover of this bike really.

  8. I will absolutely disagree with the poster above……GSR engine is as refined as unicorn or CBZX, heck if you ask me CBZX smoothness was better than unicorn at speeds above 70, but GSR even beats CBZX when it comes to engine refinement and smoothness at high speed. And I am not saying on reviews, I test drove all three bikes Unicorn GSR and CBZX and GSR simply excells at high speeds maybe because of 6th gear and ballancer tech I dont know but between the three GSR definately gave better ride comfort than the rest of the two….

and you all know other advantages of GSR…..

  9. I agree with Sam.

the bike’s performance is really very smooth at high speeds.
maybe because of the rubber damped engine to reduce vibration, or the sixth gear of course, but its really smooth.
unicorn has always been my favrte, bt this one puts me in a turmoil.

i agree that it doesnt have good luks, but pls tell me WHICH 150 CC COMMUTER HAS REAR DISCS??
u cant get all in one package man..its the rule of the nature!

  10. ‘WHICH 150 CC COMMUTER HAS REAR DISCS??’

Right sheikh, That is my point.
Which 150 cc bike has 6 gears??
IF they can provide 6 speed gear box in 149 cc/13.8 bhp COMMUTER bike, why read disc is missing ??

So the fact is, Suzuki engineers have not used their brains…

    • Sometimes we should understand that when a bike gets launched, it goes through a million process even before it hits the assembly line… unnecessary criticisms are unnecessary first of all… I agree with you Sheikh Aman, in fact when Apache was launched it looked as a photocopy of pulsar… and as for the 6th gear, its and added advantage for long highway commuting, its not about speed but comfort… for a 150cc bike rear disk is unnecessary when the bike can achieve a reasonable stopping distance with its drum brakes… I have been riding Pulsar 150 UGII for 5 years and I have never felt it needed some more stopping power and still it does not have a rear disk and I have managed some hair rising takes on that bike… sometime simplicity works better… remember a pencil is cheaper and works under water and in space too…

  11. well what i think is, that most of u guys are looking for such bikes who only show horny and smashing looks, but this bike delivers performance.
i justify the use of rear drums just because they are not needed.
the bikes available in india don’t go to that speed and are also not heavy enough that they should need disc brakes.
although they are a good option, bt if some bike doesn’t have it, then its perfectly ok, at least for me.
u might be knowing already that legendary Bullet bikes also dont have either front or rear disc brakes, yet they have always proved to be very well functioning.
the sixth gear adds very good functionality i must appreciate and the rear disk brake is not needed by me.

im not sure about all u people concerned about looks and glamor.
what i go for, is biking pleasure and performance and power, rest all is secondary for me.
till now, unicorn and this suzuki have appealed me a lot and i dnt think any better bike than these two is available.

  12. I am not looking for such bike which only have smashing looks… What I mean to say is, we want complete package which could have been possible if Suzuki had tried sincerely..

Instead of using Zeus parts why cant they give fresh model to India?? Where is it written that good lookers can perform?? Good lookers can not have biking pleasure, power and performance??

Again I would say that GS150R looks as if it was designed in 1999 and not in 2008.. Just a Commuter with 6 speed gears..Nothing extra-ordinary (which we expect from Suzuki)

  14. Its not FZ-16..Dude..read carefully.. It is FZ-S, launched on 4th March 2009 (Last week) .. Look at the link and then comment…

  15. Its not FZ-16. New launch is FZ-S.

Read carefully before commenting and check the link..

Thia bike has been launched last week..

  16. hey u guys.. whats wrong with u ppl.. why don u see the monster delivering with the gr8 force.. this bike is just awesome.. i had a test drive in all the 150cc segments. what i finally came up with was that the suzuki has brought up a master piece in the 150cc segment bikes. this bike just rules the road. the smoothness and the riding pleasure at the speed of 80kmph is awesomeee…. and if ur looking out for a perfect bike then go ahead with suzuki.. u would really feel the difference.
morever tell me a bike with a good looking has it evr been successfull on the indian roads, thats because we need a bike with not only the looks but also a fuel efficient and a well controlled bike..
so guys don wait much …. go for a test drive..
    u would surely be satisfied..
    gr8 work suzuki..

  17. @ keith

    i agree with u brother.
all we need is a performer.
what u’ll do with looks when ur bike’s performance will decrease after some years ,and more bikes with better looks will be launched!!
looks are something which are made to fade away with time.

the long lasting performance of suzuki is what i appreciate.
this bike looks comfortable, though i couldn’t manage to get a test ride, cz there’s no suzuki showroom here in lucknow, but its appearance makes me feel that it wud be comfortable.

meanwhile i rode FZ-16 and it was really a good performer.
the only thing it lacked was the good seat length.
i felt a bit uncomfortable with those short seats.

so im looking forward to try my hands on the bike.

    • Dude… Suzuki is a brand name.. it will never use such cheap publicity and marketing strategies.

As far as I think… you must be a pulser owner. Right??

  18. ohh really??
    kep laughing dear!
    thts gud for one’s health.

but as far as iam concerned, im not from suzuki team, i just like them.

and secondly this is just one of the thousands of blogs abt bikes, they would choose wisely if they really get into publicizing like this.

  19. Hi,
Deciding to buy a bike, as i gone through everyone is confused between two bikes, Unicorn or FZ16. I am looking for bike, mileage doesnt matters, as i wud b riding mostly in City, no long drives, my bro wud accompanying some times. So is it really uncomfortable for Pillion Rider on FZ16. I have rode my friends Unicorn, i like the Handling, and its a very nice bike. But i never Tried FZ16. Wud like to have a good review of your personal exeperience on FZ16. Also heard that the horn is really bad, if we change it to really good one, will it effect the performance of the FZ concerning about battery. Please do help..

  20. Superb reply man! This s sarathy here. Suzuki have always delivered quality. In one word if u like Unicorn then there s no doubt that these guys should keep their mouths shut before having a ride in it…

    Sheikh Aman: grow up guys.
its not just about the looks.i feel u guys only die for looks.

  21. The SIXTH Gear only accounts 4 mileage and not for speed. This vehicle has split its engine gear box ratio perfectly like a sports bike of a higher end.
So u dont need a rear disc brake for the presence of 6’th gear.
    Suzuki enggineers rock,
First look and i was captivated by GS150R… Wat more u need on Indian roads?

Rajiv: ‘WHICH 150 CC COMMUTER HAS REAR DISCS??’Right sheikh, That is my point.

  22. Right said Sarathy.
Legacy will always prove to be worthy.
though unfortunately i couldnt get a ride of it because theres isn’t any showroom of Suzuki in Lucknow, perhaps because Lucknow guys go for looks.
bt iam sure whenever i have a ride, it will win my heart, like Zeus did.
when u sit on zeus, a feeling of superb control automatically comes in ur mind, and when u drive it, u feel the power underneath ur ass.
thats what made me fell in love with it.
it has pull, low torque, and such a good performance.
    yes Suzuki engineers Rock!!

  23. Suzuki is really a good bike. I saw the Orangish one..at HDFC Bank Mumbai. Its really Huge..its in League with Unicorn. Did nt ride it.. but for sure.. it will catch the market sooner or latter. No strong reviews yet. like the norms of FZ-16. Some one shud come up with a fantastic review. Thnks!!

  24. these people complaining about this bike are lame. they obviously do not understand what a sixth gear means when you are cruising at 80 on a highway. they don’t understand that it will cruise at a much lower rpm and will be far less fatiguing.
these guys do not understand that it is far more difficult to built a refined engine that to build a more powerful engine that vibrates the hell out of the riders and the pillion, like the rtr.
the fz-16 and the fzs are probably the best looking bikes, but thats all there is to it. all show no go. take it to the highway with a pillion on a long ride and see it struggle.
the very fact that they have commented the way they have proves that these are not true bikers. they are just posers for whom a bike is an object to show off and pose with.
    bloody retards.

  25. I agree to whatever u have said.
it would probably make us feel as if we’re cruising on a bullet or what i guess.
still have to take a ride of it.

  26. I had a test drive of this bike today. . .

It’s smoother in every respect, smooth pick up, smooth ride and engine sound remain unchanged even at 80+ speed. .

I had a rigorous test drive by taking two pillions with me and even 3 guys can sit very comfortably in this bike and the ride still feels like heaven. .

The comfort level is as good as unicorn. .

In a long run it’s finally the performance that matters and not only looks. .

If you are a family guy, just go for it. .

I had test drive RTR 180 and Yamaha Fazer on the same day, but the smoothness of GS150R attracted me the most. .

You can run this bike on 6th gear even as low as 35km/hr

A very nice work from suzuki. .

I am going to buy this bike and i strongly suggest you all to first test drive it and then post the comments. .

I am sure that after the test drive you will have your mind change about not buying this bike. .

  27. Ya brother..i too love it, but unfortunately my city doesnt have any showroom of Suzuki.
had seen some one driving it, and i can not ever say that it doesn’t have the looks.
its aerodynamically designed and is made to make u feel comfortable for hours long riding!
    Good Luck for the Suzuki!

  28. Hello guys,
I had brought GS some months back with having last clocked 3800 on ODO. My priorities were high speed comfort (NH travel), reliability and good overall features. Style was also important,
but mileage around 50 was satisfactory for me. Digital/Analog console was not that important. Had owned a dio and fazer (old version).

My reason for GS150R over the funkier FZ16 and CBZ/Hunk :

    1. The Hunk had more vibs (less than RTR) and seemed strained at higher speeds. Good macho style though.
    2. The xtreme was much better performance, the mass and style was good from a distance. But lacked any charm. Never felt like owning it.
    3. The FZ16 was my initial choice and had booked it without test-ride with loyalty bonus.
Upon actual test-ride found out the seating and ride height is not good for NH (i am 6″2). Engine was much better than rest (Xtreme was pretty smooth). The digital meter did not impress me and prefered analog to digital here. Comfort and ride height advantage was overall lacking. The acceleration was smooth and stress-free (unlike hunk) with excellent grip and cornering, but after 3 test-rides, found out from reports on various sites and also on my 2nd test, that its performance is comparatively poor at higher speed overtaking(70+). New Fazer upon driving it yesterday feels a bit too much, and felt it was FZ16, more slower, but also more comfortable.

Finally checked out the new GS as RTR, Pulsar 180, Unicorn was not being considered.
    First impressions:
    1. The mass and size of this bike was like Xtreme, but also charming and attractive. My fiance considered it the most beautiful of all bikes she has seen.

    2. Sitiing position was the best ever, so was the silencer side view. At standstill felt heavy and powerful, and also felt the 2D pics are never good representatives. The front and rear was not as impressive and macho as FZ16.

    3. Test ride was the best ever. The bike was excellent in comfort and ride height. The Gear indicator and console was professional and best looking. The engine was very smooth (like FZ16) but the vib-free nature and stability was better than rest (even FZ16). 6th gear, bike seemed absolutely relaxed at 75 kmph.

    4. Booked a black instantly, but felt Suzuki are really not interested in selling or promoting their GS. Even Access was excellent. Might buy it or aviator for my fiancee and wife.

    At 3100 ODO:
    1. The initial problems encountered before 1st service were highly un-focussed headlights, and constant pain on palm, on throttle side. Downshifts were very smooth but also sometimes loud.
    2. After service, headlight was very good, new thicker rubber grips have eliminated palm pain.
    3. The bike smoothness, gear upshifts/downshifts are excellent and bike stability at high speeds is most likely the best in the <200cc bracket.
4.The digital console is brilliant and best-ever with the ECO/PWR blinking modes really helping in runnin-in and RPM control.
    5. The bike is heavy at standstill, but during ride it feels extremely stable. The rear brake is nowhere near my old Fazer, but the front brake was brilliant and has good progression. Under very hard braking once, the bike was completely linear and stable with good stopping distance.
    6. Comfort is the best i have experienced in a bike till date. fiancee finds rear seat high, but also highly comfortable with good view.
    7. After recent 2nd service, bike is even better than before, and this has forced me to write a review here. Smoothness, acceleration, stability and vib-free nature is outstanding now.
    8. The problem i currently encountered (found out by my friend) is traces of rust on fuel tank mouth.

Conclusion: This bike is ideal for the tourer and tall guys. Engineering quality, reliability and overall feel is the best have experienced, to my limited knowledge. Would recommened it to anyone seeking above qualities and cruising capabiity. 6th gear is extremely useful here. Feel 5th gear acceleration is the best in this segment.

Mileage have not checked, but feel its well above 50. This bike has got looks with people asking about its features and even fiancee friends consider it beautiful. I also feel the bike loks great in black when maintained well. Thanks.

  29. @ Da_Dude!

dude..ur words are like conclusion dear!
u just gave the final word!!
    thanks.
no one has given such a good review yet!

i agree that suzuki is not interested in selling this bike, since they dont have a showroom in Capital of U.P.!! how insane is that!!
that has kept me from feeling the bike and buying it too!

and for the people who are concerned about the looks, see that his fiancee and her frnd have also liked, means girls like it..now come on we all guys normally go for bike’s look to impress girls, and when girls are liking the looks of GS, then stop complaining about the looks yaar!!

    see the performance!!

  30. 60+ at second gear without Vibration is not a bike… its sensation.. I’ve only found them in Honda City’s.. (Kiddin)….
HMV please i trust ur words.. But do reply once for ma satisfaction sayin wot u said was performed by Suzuki GS-150R

  31. I like this bike very much.It seems like many bikes in our country such as Pulsar,Cbz,Apache,Unicorn, etc…
So this bike is very good to drive smoothly with 6 gear.
This bike hav great achive. This bike doesn’t make loud noise and vibration as pulsar does.

  32. Correction Mr. Junaid,
As i have drove the bike now, and have gone till 100 kmph, the bike is superb at that speed and gives tremendous control!
feels like riding a Royal Enfield bullet!
    Loved the experience!

..::No bike is like GS 150R in India yet::..
just handle me this bike, and bring any of ur bike of this class, even Apache 180 too..im gonna beat u.
    thats an open invitation!

  33. Ya U R right Aman,
There is “no bike like GS 150R in India yet”
I like to get this bike by the end of this month.
Even it gives tremendous control @ a speed of 120 kmph.
    It’ll b a grant success for Suzuki.
Suzuki is also deciding to launch 2010 version of GS 150R.
It gives looks of Sports edition model such as Fazer,R15.
No bike can break the functions of GS 150R.

  34. Hi Guys,
I will go a little back for the guys who said the bike has not looks and 6th gear is useless and Rear disks are missing. Well I think these guys must be pulsar overs (mostly). I have questions here.
    1. Bajaj launched 3 versions of Pulsar (150,180,200) can any one tell me how these bikes looks different from each other.
    2. Looks of pulsar has always been same since it was launched, except only headlight and console change, even also their 220 model also looks much same as 150.
    3. How many pulsar models have rear disk (only 220).

But still you likes all these bikes just for the engine (that too very noisy and vibrating) and power.

And you are complaining about the RVM and Alloys of GS150R.
And for your knowledge disks are not installed in bike just to show off, they have a purpose.

  35. I agree Yogesh!
this bike is a marvel in its segment , and no one else beats it.
and pulsar!! haah.. get any pulsar and a gs150, lets see who survives 5 years down the line when you commute at least 70-80 kms a day.
i bet pulsar would die with its noisy engine, troubling seating position, vibrating body, inability to control at high speeds, poor balance at high speeds, poor clutch plate.

I hail from the family who have trusted and tested suzuki since generation, and we still have a suzuki max100.
it is at least 20 years old, and it stills works like it was working when it was new.

and you know the best part, after being awarded as the bike of the year for 2009, these “showy” guys are gone!!
where are they?? why dont they comment anymore??

discs do have a purpose, but only fr sensible people who understand dynamics, not for fools who only use them to make the bike fall of on their backs!

  36. See i have driven this bike at 120+
i know the difference that it has got.

and know what,i could go further but i was scared enough because road wasn’t good and i didnt have any eye gear or helmet.

on that speed too, the engine really did sound as if it was roaming at 50-60.
    and vibration, it was nowhere.
    true biking pleasure.
u can compare its performance with Bullet.

  37. Hi All, I have purchased suzuki GS 150r two days back. Prior to that I have test drove all bikes in 150 segment but this one turned me up and made me buy it immediately. Who says its obsolete good looking bikes might be for sometime but they failed in their performance. Especially the smoothness of this bike is cool and I couldn’t find any kind of vibration even at 30. As a total package its so good need to wait for milage report. I dont think a diff of 5 to 6 kmpl would be of consideration against the pleasure you can feel riding the bike.

    Cheers.

  38. See..
    Riding is believing
I am also waiting for my pockets to have much amount which can get this machine as soon as possible.
also am waiting for a nice bike from Suzuki in 250 cc segment.
they have silently launched the legendary GSX 1000 and Bandit.
but they’re way too much costly.

  39. this piece of fine work DOES NOT cost 70 thousand at all!!
Im not sure about ur city, but its available here in Chandigarh at 62k on road.

and if you’re looking only for cc, then surely go for apache.
but it won’t give you long-ride pleasures, which Suzuki will.
    ur choice.

  40. hey hey hey guys.
    just to simplify everything….
    i am a damn bike lover…….

so, if one is not concerned for mileage. go for apache 160 fi, with rear disc and amazing looks.hero honda hunk is another option,
great for power and high speed

if one is concerned with mileage and dont want to compromise with power and style. then pulsar 150,180 fzs and dazzler would do,
bt remind u all these hv some drawbacks like gear shifting and vibration at higher speed.and many more after years as my friends hv these for years.

and guys who r concerned for all looks performance and handling then, just go for gs 150 r, my first option,
then for cbz or the new unicorn, though the unicorn has better handling than cbz its my second option………

gs 150 r rokkkkssss in this group becoz of the following
mileage 60+, great awesome handling and gear shifting. and its dual mode of economy and power are amazing. go for a test drive………

and hey man aman i am really impressed with your choice just 4 days to go and i will have my gs 150 r in my garage

  41. Hi All,
Nice reviews 🙂 Thanks for everyone here…
I’m very exited, I’m getting this machine delivered tomorrow.

I was in a lot of dilemma between hunk or unicorn or GS

Hunk is surely out of game as everyone suggested me not to go for it, still its an hero Honda man, driving passion plus for more than 6 yrs (85000 km) I had a affinity to it…

Coming on to unicorn, i totally hate CB dazzler, don’t know why… but it failed to impress me… for unicorn i had to wait at least for 2 or 3 months…

GS was on my list, and just thought I’ll test drive it before choosing between gs or hunk…

Just 5 minutes ride… I had no doubts to choose a bike, i just booked gs black right away…

I’m getting this lovely machine tomorrow

Guys please go for a test drive, I’m sure you’ll go for it 🙂

will post after i finish my 2nd service…

  42. finally ME, a owner of GS 150 r.

i can proudly say i hv the best bike in 150 cc segment………
believe me guys its so so so smooth, what a ride today…….
now i can easily beat pulsar, even 180, any other bike is just a kid with its comfort….
plz dont make any decision only by seeing these comments or these 2d pics, plz plz plz plz have a test drive, u will not leave it even while u sleep………

thank u very much Sheikh Aman for yr valuable comments…

but i do have a complaint with the suzuki advertising segment…..
why the hell they are not making any promotion on the bike..
    plz comment

  43. haha..
    thanks..
glad to hear that you got it.
and ironically, i still don’t own it! 😛

I am thinking to refer suzuki guys to this page, and reward me with some thing! 😉 LoL

  44. yes, thats true

u r the one sheikh who must hv sold more than 5 bikes just
by writing these comments…including my one
    u deserve a suzuki gs 150r…….
just go for it,dont just sit idle and wait
    its a awesome bike……….
in fact i hv discovered smthing new..
this bike is probably the largest in size and growth, much more than any othjer 150 cc bike, larger than hunk, unicorn and of course than pulsar apache and fz-s and 16………

  45. Thanks a lot for the credit guys.

I am happy that you guys have got the best machine in its segment around, and my words have helped you in getting them

Though I am an Engineer but not a mechanical engineer, I just love bikes and biking, so whatever my instinct said, i just posted here.

Larger bike gives advantage and it perhaps won’t zip like other bikes, but is surely a performer while cruising.
and the pleasure of biking is only at cruising.

keep discovering people, and keep praying that i manage enuff funds to get it

  46. One more thing.
I came to understand Suzuki’s advertising policy.
They don’t spend much on the Electronic advertisements, rather depend on word of mouth kinda publicity.

this helps them keeping the price of the bike low and making it affordable.
otherwise, the bike having features like these would have cost us around 70 thousand. or more.
    pulsar already does.
they spend thousands in providing bikes to stunt mania, in publicizing their pulsar mania web space and more. that hikes it price.

and please, im not being paid by suzuki, I just love them because i had started biking with Suzukis (Max 100, Shaolin and Shogun)

  47. Sheikh Me too Got the bike finally 🙂 I’m able to reach 60 KMPH
    in 6th gear with 4500 rpm…
Bike is ultra smooth and real comfortable…
Its cost was 68k in Chennai SMK SUZUKI.

  48. Wow..
    that’s pretty cool!!
    slow rider haan!!
    congratulations!!

well its cheapest here (around delhi) i can get it on road in around 63k.
im just waiting fr my turn to come! 😛

  49. 🙂 not exactly a slow rider dude…
    As I’m in breaking-in period 🙂 till 750 KMS. Only 500 KMS done in 5 days…
May be after 750 KMS i can go till 80 or so…
    After 1500 KMS I’ll try max speed…
    What Say…

  50. Hi All….
As I said already, I’m back after Driving the bike for more than 2000 KMs.

Lovely comfort, ride control and handling.
    It is super smooth,
Stable even at speeds over 100 KMPH
Pretty Good Head Light and easy Leveling adjustments, For which u need not depend on the service center or mechanic.
Breaks are awesome, I manages to stop the bike from 80 – 10 in less than 4 seconds.
No Back pain even after riding for more than 200 KMS.

Now a bit of cons, Ofcourse everything has black n white side 🙂
I’ve seen some one in youtube posted 130 kmph as top speed,
I guess you’ll get disappointed, You can reach the maximum of 115 or a little more…
Rear Wheel pressure if more than 35 You might feel little instability at higher speeds.
Initial Pick up is not that great…
Rear Suspension isn’t that great, when compared to unicorn or FZ.

Thats all… Overall its a great machine… not for kids but for matured people 🙂

    Mileage (If anyone is concerned)
    50 – 60 KMPH (<4500 rpm) – 55 + KMPL
    60 – 85 KMPH (<6500 rpm) – 50 KMPL
    85 – 110 + KMPH (~8000 rpm) – 45 KMPL

You 'll never Regret for getting this machine, unless you badly want vrooming pickUp 🙂
    Have good time folks 🙂

  51. Guys inflate your tyre as specified in the manual. Also, note that different petrol bunks have different guages to measure tyre pressure. Some bunks measure tyre air pressure as PSI and some measure as kg/m. So, be careful, do not overinflate your tyres.

Will suzuki give rear disc brake option for Gs150r in 2011 model? I hope they do. Also, the helmet lock is redundant. Remove it and reduce some weight, if possible.

  52. Hi,
    All.

I also like GS 150R. I have purchased pulsar 135 in Oct. 10. I liked 135. But before 10 days ago i took a ride on friends GS 150R. This bikes performance is really really very smooth at high speeds even after 80+ at sixth gear of course, but its really smooth.

Now i am going to sell my 135 & will go for this high performance bike made by suzuki.
This is best bike in all matter. Mainly i liked its low vib. at 80+ which i have never seen in any bike even in Apache & unicorn. Comfort level is very high. Look dosen’t matters against performance. I suggest those who are against this bike. Take a test ride & fill the difference

Again nice bike & nice engineering.

  53. I completely agree with Sheikh Aman
all we need is peace of mind .
    & GS150R does it effortlessly.
About rtr & pulsar fans i am also fan of pulsar but the quality & resell value (unable to resell pulsar, try! or ask someone for selling & then you know
    what people says about pulsar).
tvs copies the pulsar’s design & bajaj copies the Great japanese Companies like (yamaha, honda, suzuki) for their engine design & brand image
My bro is working in Bajaj R&D & he sends me the pics taken inside the bajaj chakan plant. there
are several Sportsbike their(LEgendary Hayabusa,R1,Honda Fireblade) . My bro tells me that bajaj learns from this bike their brand image ,style, performance, & copies & modifies it to its
bike.& applies this to their brands like pulsar.but the brand is succesfull beacause of their marketing efforts(pulsar maniacs) & nut cracking performance. But the product is failed in refinement, reliability, resell value, unmatched performance
that japanies legends have. Even h&h’s New Karizma zmr is copy of CBZ xtreme(tail lamps),zmr sign (Hayabusa style).
THe GS150R is designed to give user a full peace of mind in every moment we ride our bike in terms of performance, reliability(no tension),engine refinement,
, handling & butter smooth pick up & its eye candy design.
I also like Unicorn & dazzler but my 1st choice is GS150R & am going to book it.
Have a happy & safe journey & wear helmate

  54. yogesh & aman rocks. Pulsar doesn’t have quality in it & stay pulsar for only 1.5 years. after
you know the problems. & Its correct that their is no noticeble difference in pulsar series
(except p220 with fairing). gear shifting & handling in GS150r is excellant

  55. Hi all,
congrats to all GS owners. I brought my black GS in Oct 2010. till now I covered 5500KM on odo.
The bike is very nice and pleasure to ride at any speeds. Once bike crosses 70 speed you will feel like your body moving on fly.

Recently i covered 730 KM in 24 Hours (Mumbai-Hyd trip). In which 580 Kms (Pune-Hyd) with in 12 hours and with no back pain and nothing. I constantly mainatained my speed 70-75KMPH. No heating and harsh sounds from engine.

Finally Great ride with Great Bike.

  56. i have a problem in suzuki gs is 1st headlight focus, 2nd a handle dug when i ride in rash road it sounds very badly even i have complained about it in the showroom but no use. masoodbond007@yahoo.com. karimnagar andhra pradesh 505001, cell :
    9963075007

  57. Hello Masood. Regarding headlight focus, there is an adjusting screw for focus. Also, Suzuki Gs150r and Honda unicorn headlights are AC and connected directly to coil. These headlight intensity will vary with accleration. These are not like pulsar headlight, which is DC battery connected and constant.

Regarding handle sound, I think that main center handle nut might be loose. Get it tightened. Thats it. Such minor issues are there in every bike, and they can be rectified.

  58. Suzuki New GS150R is ByBre braking systems (Bybre is one of the best brake in the world)

Brembo’ the world leader and acknowledged innovator of the brake disc technology for automotive vehicles today unveiled the new brand “BYBRE” in India. The Italian engineered ‘Bybre’ range is specifically dedicated to the braking systems of motorcycles and scooters under 600 cc and this range will be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility at Pune, which was inaugurated in 2009

ByBre – an abbreviation of “By Brembo” – is a brand dedicated entirely to braking systems for small-to-mid engine size (up to 600 cc) scooters and motorcycles for the BRIC markets (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and other countries in South East Asia (ASEAN).

  59. i’am planning to buy a 150 cc bike…
my choices are unicorn, pulsar,fz,cbz and suzuki gs150r..
    which is better??
    in performance,mileage,comfort etc.???

  60. @Sreejith
Dude, it was easier to suggest you, if u told about your figure, your requirement (milesage/performance), and your journeys whether most of those are in traffic or long-rides…
