Suzuki GS150R Features, Photos & Details

Yesterday I went to the Suzuki showroom in my city to question about the GS150R 150cc model. They said that it would take upto January to get the first bike. I expected to get a test ride, but at least I got a brochure from them. So here is some interesting information and pictures from the brochure. Courtesy, Suzuki India.

Presenting Suzuki GS150R, the never-before combination of stunning looks and raw power, guaranteed to make heads turn with its stylish, sporty design that will change the way India rides. This flagship model from the Suzuki stable comes equipped with superior technology to give you a never-before riding experience.

Presenting the worlds first eco-mode equipped engine rpm indicator. The GSX-R-inspired engine rpm indicator glows to give an indication to the rider about the optimum up-shift timings. This latest unit features a new selectable two mode (Eco & Power) function to cater to a wide range of riding needs and conditions.

Sporty Style Headlight: The stunning, powerful headlight with built-in positioning light is inspired from Suzuki’s international superbike GSX-R. It has been designed to give GS150R a very distinct look.

LED Tail Lamp & Integrated Rear Turn Signal: The super-sleek, streamlined aerodynamic shaped LED tail lamp and integrated rear turn signals based on the styling of GSX-R take the style quotient to the next level.

Majestic, Stronger Fuel lank: Majestic fuel tank brings high user satisfaction with the impression of being stronger.

Rear Suspension with Separate Reservoir Tank: The shock absorber has a separate oil reservoir, which facilitates oil cooling effectively. This in turn prevents the drop in performance caused by heating.

150cc Engine with a new design: The 150cc engine has been designed with a focus on acceleration performance in the low-to-mid range speed, which is most important in city riding. This ensures that you always enjoy a smooth, comfortable ride with the new Suzuki GS150R.

Engine Balancer Technology: In other motorcycles, vibration generated from inside the engine, by the vertical motion (inertial force) of the piston and rotating motion (centrifugal force) of the crankshaft, is transmitted through the handlebars, seat and footpegs to the rider.

Suzuki GS150R’s Engine balancer Technology seeks to minimize such vibration order to deliver a more comfortable riding experience. Moreover the balancer system is equipped with balancer-driven gear fitted with a rubber damber for reducing the impact noises generated by its meshing with the balancer-driver gear. A rubber damper and spring are installed inside the balancer-driven gear. (End of Brochure)

This technology seems to be a new and innovative one but it can be given credit only if we drive the bike and notice significant difference. The mid range torque phenomenon seems to be adopted from FZ16. Eventhough Suzuki claims that it would be a better quality ride in the city, I don’t think there can be a better street bike than Yamaha FZ16 as of now.
