Royal Enfield Super Meteor is probably the next motorcycle from the company’s house. It will be the new flagship and the costliest of the lot…
We already know that Royal Enfield is working on a lot of new motorcycles. The brand had registered many names like Hunter, Roadster, Flying Flea, Sherpa, Scram, etc. But it was the Shotgun name that looked most certain for one of the upcoming 650cc cruisers that the company is testing.
Why I said ‘one of the…’ because there are at least two different 650cc cruisers that the Chennai based manufacturer is testing on the roads. One with relaxed, foot-stretched riding geometry that is so typical of cruisers and the other is a sportier model.
For one of the 650 cruiser, a new speculative report claims to have unearthed the name – Super Meteor. If this is true, Royal Enfield may be wanting to earn some brownies from its recently introduced ‘Meteor’ brand that currently spawns a 350cc motorcycle – that has been a hit in the market.

Royal Enfield used the Super Meteor brand in the 1950s in USA and hence this would again be a resurrection. The report claims that Super Meteor will be unveiled at EICMA, which is scheduled for next month. India launch, they say, is planned for early 2022.
Racing Continental GT-R650 Unveiled; RE Enters Track Racing
Super Meteor (or not) cruiser will expand RE’s portfolio and become the most expensive motorcycle in the line-up. It will definitely share the 650cc twin cylinder engine from the Interceptor 650 and expect power and torque figures around the same ballpark as well. However, tweaks for its different application shall definitely be there.
Being the new flagship, it will come loaded with features, including the company’s recently launched smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and that means it will have the Tripper Navigation system that will gradually go to most REs.
