Royal Enfield has joined the fairly big list of manufacturers that have announced plant shutdowns in the wake of this second wave of Corona pandemic. The company, through a press statement, shared that this step has been taken to prioritize safety and well-being of its employees.
That means that all the three company’s plants – Oragadam, Vallam Vadagal and Thiruvottiyur will temporarily remain closed from tomorrow ie 13th May 2021 to 16 May 2021. However, this may get extended. Royal Enfield informs that it will perform maintenance of its plants to utilize this time.

It also said that the demand has been muted due to lockdowns in various states and cities and hence, this halt in production may not impact the already low demand. Employees from the corporates offices will continue their Work from Home.
