And for the first time, according to Times of India Royal Enfield’s top boss Siddhartha Lal has officially confirmed  that they are working on two new engine platforms which will spawn multiple motorcycles. He also gave away the expected displacement and said that they will be in the range of 250 cc to 750 cc! He also said that launch of new products based on these platforms will start from next year and products on these platforms are expected to live for the next decade!

The company has been pretty vocal about this and reiterated that Royal Enfield will stick to their strengths and the new motorcycles will not be extreme sporty performance motorcycles but Siddharth did add that they will be ‘high performance bikes‘. The motorcycles coming out of these platforms will be international models just like the Continental GT.

To support the plan, the company is investing Rs 500 crores which will be used for Research and Development, capacity expansion, new product development and setting up of two development centers in Chennai and UK.
