After Showcasing it to Indonesians, Bajaj Takes Adventure Pulsar 200AS Out for Testing in India

While everyone was waiting for the ‘Super Sports’ Pulsar 200SS to hit the markets, Bajaj pulled out another ace from nowhere – which was called the Pulsar 200AS, where AS stands for Adventure Sports.

The motorcycle, first thought to be an after-market job, was showcased to some Indonesian media who also got a chance to test ride it at Bajaj’s Chakan plant. And now, the semi faired Pulsar 200AS is out on our Indian streets and has been snapped completely camouflaged by the folks at Indiancarsbikes.in.

Pulsar 200AS is the semi-faired version of 200NS and going by its name, it will be promoted as an adventure-tourer based motorcycle. Apart from the half-fairing, it gets projector headlamp and a few minor changes from its naked sibling, more on which you can read here.

While we have waited for the Pulsar 200SS for some eons of years, we can not really be sure when is Bajaj planning to launch this 200AS in India.

Some websites have been claiming this to be the replacement for Pulsar 220F, which we believe will not happen very soon, considering the fact that it (220F) outsells 200NS as well as its competition including new Karizma twins etc hands down!

The 200AS, with the power and characteristics of the 200NS and an upright seating posture may just end up being a nice little affordable tourer in our market, however, only if and when Bajaj launches it here.
