A portal named BikeDekho has claimed that Hero has confirmed that there will be four 200cc motorcycles in their portfolio by next year and their sources suggest that the fourth motorcycle will be a faired sports version.
In case you are wondering the other three are – Xtreme 200R which is already in the market, the upcoming Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T (pics & details). Now let us clarify that we have no confirmation about such a claim from the company.
So, why are we covering this?
Because it is almost a confirmation that Hero will leverage the 200 platform to its maximum. If there, indeed, is a fourth bike that they will develop, there are all the chances that it will be a faired model – as they have already covered the naked variant (with Xtreme 200R), adventure (with Xpulse 200) as well as the tourer version (with Xpulse 200T). So, the next logical direction has to be a faired sports motorcycle.

Now, add to that Hero’s statement given to BikeAdvice which said that ‘We will make Karizma fans happy‘ many months back. Joining the dots, this could mean that we may finally see a Karizma 200 based on the Xtreme 200R’s platform with a semi/full fairing by next year.

But if this goes true, will it be a good idea to downgrade the Karizma brand by powering it with a Honda sourced engine which is a rebored version of what Unicorn is powered with?
